Description

This sourdough pizza bagel is soft on the inside with a crispy crust and topped with fresh basil, sweet tomato sauce, and melty mozzarella cheese. Easy, healthy, and simply delicious! View TikTok Video.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Sundried Tomato or Plain Bagel
  • 1/4 Cup Pizza Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Mozzarella (I use fresh, local mozzarella)
  • Basil, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for topping
  • Olive oil, for drizzling


Instructions

  1. PREHEAT OVEN: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. PREPARE BAGELS: Cut bagel in half and brush with olive oil and place on a baking sheet. Sprinkle each with a little flakey sea salt. Bake cut side up for 4-6 minutes until lightly crisp and golden brown on the bottom.
  3. PREPARE TOPPINGS: While the bagels bake, prepare the toppings: grate mozzarella cheese and chop basil.
  4. FIRST TOPPINGS: Remove the tray from the oven. Top each bagel half with about 2 tablespoons pizza sauce and 3 to 4 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. FINAL BAKE: Bake the bagels 6 to 7 minutes until the cheese is melted. Top with fresh basil, a drizzle of olive oil, and enjoy!
